How Much Does Landscape Lighting Cost in Charlotte? What Changes the Price
Landscape lighting prices depend on how many lights, what they light, and how the system is built. Here is what moves the number.

Landscape lighting is priced by the design, not by the square foot. Two houses on the same street can have very different numbers. Here is what actually changes the price.
1. How many lights
The number of fixtures is the biggest driver. A front of house design with a few uplights on the home and trees costs far less than a full property with the back yard, patio and trees.
2. What kind of lights
Flush well lights set in the ground, spotlights aimed at trees, and permanent roofline lights are all built differently. Better fixtures in solid brass or copper cost more up front and hold up longer outdoors.
3. Wire runs and the transformer
Low voltage systems run from a transformer that plugs in near the house. Longer wire runs and bigger systems need a larger transformer and more cable.
4. Controls
The standard setup turns the lights on at dusk and off at dawn with a photocell, so there is nothing to set. A smart transformer you control from your phone is an optional upgrade.
5. The ground
Roots, rock, hardscape and slopes take more time to run wire through.
How to compare quotes
Ask each company how many fixtures are included, what they are made of, what size transformer is used, how the lights are controlled, and what the warranty covers. A cheap quote with plastic fixtures is not the same job.
